I ran it 100 times and Edmonton won only 8 times, when their chances should be 13.5%.
So there's that.

It was awfully convenient for Crosby to end up on the Penguins. I doubt the NHL has screwed with the draft lottery since then, but with McDavid being the next generational talent I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the desert or in a big eastern market like Philly

I've always thought the conspiracy theorists were crazy about the draft, but if McDavid does go to Phoenix I may have to start questioning it. Why don't they make it live? TSN drags out the reveal process to 60 min when realistically you could be done in 5. If we actually got to watch live, see the ping pong balls bounce around and find out the results that way the reveal process wouldn't be so manufactured and tedious.

Don't they have an accounting firm witness or certify the process before they unveil the thing on national tv?
I'd be shocked if they don't
Getting a player like McDavid is a 2 decade success ticket, you can't have anyone thinking they didn't get a fair shake at him.

The lottery is performed by one of the big 4 accounting firms I have heard. Maybe E&Y?
Also wasn't the Crosby lottery done on TV with balls?

I remember this thing from last year. It's a really nice change to look at the standings every morning without caring about the draft implications of every Flames win/ Sabres Oilers loss.
I didn't use the simulator at all. Because it doesn't have anything to do with the Flames this year. I couldn't care less who wins the draft lottery.
