Stabbing outside of Flames Central

Calgary Police are investigating what they are calling a “melee” along Stephen Avenue.
It happened at about 2:30 Sunday morning near Flames Central and it’s believed two groups were involved, totaling between 12 and 16 people.
Four people were taken to hospital with various injuries.
Several people are now in custody being questioned by police.
The Centralized General Investigation Section is handling the case.

Calgary cops have one man in custody following an early morning stabbing Sunday that sent three to hospital.

Police were called to the 200 block of 8 Ave. S.W., after witnesses reported people fighting.

One man in his early 20s was taken to hospital in serious, potentially life-threatening condition and two others were taken in stable condition.

As of Sunday afternoon, Sgt. Joe Hebert said “none appear to be life-threatening.”

A fourth person was treated at the scene for an unrelated matter, said Hebert.

“Initially we were just called for one patient, but it turned into four,” said EMS spokesperson Naomi Nania.

Ahh, good times.. haha. I remember I almost got my arse kicked for being an innocent by stander minding my own business just waiting for my other buddies to come out of FC after TyDi was done.

Some guy was getting beat down at the doors of McD's near where i was standing and this dude who's probably a friend of the dude being beat or vice versa comes up right up to me thinking I was friends with the other dude.

I just stared at him for a minute doing nothing and he ran towards the fight.. haha. Man, my buddies called me stupid for just standing in the middle of the walk when i should have lean up against the walls like they did.
