Great write up again! This game was actually a good example of showing how shots taken is an indicator of possession, but not of who technically was the better team. You made a good point of the second especially being a high possession period for the Canucks and the fourth line doing a good job of forechecking and I think that was a big eye test difference in the game.
Vancouver was playing a strong possession game of keep away and shooting, but the Flames seemed relentless in forcing the play with the forecheck. I didn't notice too many times where the Canucks were able to use the possession to set up really good scoring opportunities and the Flames pressure forced a lot of lower percentage shots, which turned into a strong transition game. I love watching this kind of hockey, some bruising lines that can be aggressive and some skill in the top two lines. Four lines rolling and the only time I was ever worried was when the third D pairing were on the ice, but not with the forwards.
Some strong goaltending, but I don't remember more than one or two saves that were lights out. Great overall effort and team game and back to Flames hockey, speed, puck pursuit and finishing checks.
