Default why are certain threads suddenly so slow?

The MMA thread and page 7 of the Superbowl thread are literally stopping my computer and refusing to load. Not sure what the issue is - the gifs perhaps?

Both the office and home machines got plugged up on those pages. Is there a way for the offending images to be pulled away so the rest of the thread can be viewed?

I'm seeing the same thing, I'm pretty sure it's the latest version of Chrome and Flash, it seems to be YouTube videos that's causing the issues. I thought it was just me. I actually get crashing messages for Flash.

Once I start having problems FireFox has issues as well, but I think Chrome and FireFox share the same Flash on a computer.

Either that or YouTube did something with their embed code because they just enabled HTML5 video by default on their site and the problems started for me at the same time.

I was going to change the embed code to use HTML5 video, I'll try that tomorrow. Then no need for Flash at all.

Looks like it was those HUGE gifs as well.

Anyway I changed the embed code for YouTube videos to use HTML5 instead of flash, hopefully that'll improve things.
