Sorry if this was already posted. This could be interesting. I can just imagine what it would be like to see Johnny hockey toe drag Karlsson or a mcgrattan punch coming at me.

Definitely sounds interesting. I'm sure they will be able to get some pretty awesome footage. Glad the NHL is looking at new ways to improve the TV experience. This sounds like it has promise for sure.
I like getting a players perspective mostly because I love hearing the chirping and trash talk.

Man if they're able to get replays up from a go-pro live to air between plays this is gonna be golden. But I wonder about the bulk/size of extra equipment effecting plays.
But hell, just sticking em on the ref and having a reply available would be great.

I am curious how they plan to outfit the players. The cameras aren't that big. I recall a couple of goalies having cameras in their helmets last yer during an outdoor game but I could be dreaming.
In the article, it mentions broadcasters having the ability to integrate footage into their feeds.
Hopefully it's the 4K version camera and is available instantly as a new angle. Looks great and really shows off the speed. Could be a game breaker for new viewers to the sport (if they launch it ahead of the other major NA sports).
I wonder if the footage will be available in real time?
It's only getting harder and harder to convince yourself to drop a couple hundred bucks on a game, when TV just keeps getting better. Real time GoPro footage would definitely be a step in that direction. Out of curiosity, does anyone know if this has been tested in other sports? Preferably the highest tier, or is hockey the first one?
The NHL has used them on goalie in All Star games. I have also see one from a QB and one from a Catcher, both were also in All Star games, never in real games.
It would be super if we started to use them first.
