can we just do one PGT, so that we can see both game reactions in one?

Sorry bubbsy I titled this one separate so that people who didn't see this game wouldn't have the outcome wrecked by a single PGT, delete if necessary mods.

It was nice to see hockey again. I don't know how the Oilers think they have a hope in hell of crawling out of the basement.

As advertised. He simply makes things happen when he's got the puck. I found myself screaming at the TV for the Flames to get the puck to him during the PP, not because I want to see another Johnny toe drag, but because he's actually the best bet for the team to get a scoring chance. And that's with Gio/Brodie, Seto and Colborne out there.
Once he's got the puck, his skill, vision and crisp passing don't water down much as he moves up the leagues. However, as expected, he has a tougher time battling for pucks himself. The less puck battles he wins, the less opportunity he has to work magic with the puck. I'm sure that will get better, but I still think a disproportionate amount of his puck possession will start from a teammates pass vs. a takeaway, confirming in my mind that 'protecting' him with a lead-handed goon on his line works well for nobody.

gaudreau is going to be a great player, he didn't look intimidated at all, smart with the puck and not panicky with the puck. he's a very smart player and would be surprised if he's not on the big club out of camp.

Gaudreau looked great when he had the puck. Problem is, his teammates just didn't feed him enough passes (they REALLY need to learn to). But every time it got on his stick heading through the neutral zone or attacking zone, he made something happen. Was the best distributor on the PP by far. But simply didn't get enough chances or enough luck tonight.
The whole team didn't generate that many quality chances, really. mostly Monahan, who was great, but couldn't hit the net with a beach ball it seemed.

Maybe it was just me but Wills sounded like Ned Flanders on the radio broadcast.
