Default Family Reunion Venues

Looking for a venue in the Calgary area for a family reunion next summer. Trying to keep the cost reasonable as the majority will be coming out of town. 3 days.

70 or so people, a community hall with accommodation near by? Or a Hotel with a nice meeting room that one can get their own catering and liquor license? Bible camp type places all seem to not allow booze.

Or any other ideas for that kind of thing.

My vote is for the shark club if they like sports, hooters if they are looking for something more pedestrian

Hillhurst Sunnyside Community association has several spaces available:

Is also right across from Riley Park for added roaming space / playground.

That might be good, in an interesting area of town, and not that far from some hotels on 16th Ave up near Crowchild.

Crestmont or Bowness Community Halls might not be bad, and there are some hotels just across from COP.

We had ours here, rented it for a week. Food and lodging. Not fancy but great location, decent food for a camp, family was happy with it, we've actually had two week long reunions there. Price was... I will look it up. Well it varies, we rented on a flat rate and charged $55/ day/ person for food and lodging. We had the main hall and another out building were the parents with babies all stayed. Availability can be tight though as it is primarily a kids summer camp, I guess it depends on when you wanted to rent it for.
It is a Kiwanis Camp and we never brought up liquor in any discussions with them, I think they said a no sale permit may be okay but we just kept the liquor out of the main hall and used discretion, and go cups. I can answer any questions you may have as I looks after all the booking, money etc...
There was around 90 of us in total but about 20 or so stayed in there rv's which were parked on site, this further complicated the pricing...

The other side of the family put one on last year and rented a hall just south of the Foothills hospital but I cannot remember the name of it, it was more of a potluck type of feeding with the family providing all of the food.

On the south end of town there is a nice hall out at DeWinton. You can stay in Okotoks or South Calgary. Great western feel to it.

There is also that Pioneers Cabin, or Old Timers Cabin in Elbow. That might work as well.

Calgary Rugby Union.

Has catering facilities and a nice deck with a view of the mountains.

Heritage Park has a few venues and they do some pretty good catering. Have done Christmas parties out there as well as a big family get together for my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary
