They're going to get a nice payday
I wonder if they get exact contracts, or if Toews get a bit more

I am going to guess they both get 10m each. 160m signing today.
EDIT: Close.. 10.5 AAV.

Those AAV's are ridiculous.
I guess the cap is supposed to continue rising, but jesus that's nuts.

Yeah, this is probably where the Blackhawks are going to regress somewhat until the cap increases enough to surround those two with some legitimate help.

High deal right now, but in years 4-8 those contracts look really good.
Nice to see they both agreed on equal numbers. I have to think Toews could have gotten 12 and Kane probably deserved 8.

Yikes.
Guess that is what happens when you are 25 and 26 years old respectively, have already won 2 Stanley Cups, and are eligible to be UFAs after the season.
Chicago regretting not giving them some of those life time contracts back in 2010 now.

I'm a huge Toews fan but his steadiness and consistency is matched dollar for dollar by Kane's game breaking ability

Crosby....current cap hit is $8.7m but run his numbers to just when 19/88 contracts expire in in 2022/23, then Crosby's average pay is $9.8m. Not too different.
