Local Rock Musicians Start One-Show Boy Band to Raise Money for Autism!
Hi CP!
I usually post about my own band, Go For The Eyes, but this time I have to tell you about my boy band.
I work with kids with Autism as my day job (Society For Treatment of Autism, in case you're wondering). This work and music are two huge passions of mine. I have decided to combine them together to make a powerful difference in the community.
I have started a one-show-only boy band (inspired by BSB and N'Sync), The EmoTionaL(s) with my other friends from different Calgary bands. We feature members from GFTE, Jenny, Bell Tower and Viet Cong. We'll be performing at National Music Centre on Saturday, August 9 with the intention of raising at least $2000 for Canadian Autism Intervention Research Network.
The funds for this project will come from the EmoTionaL(s) show, and also from a boy band radio single that will be emerging at the end of this month. I'll post links when it's up!
I just wanted to share this with you all because....well, it's ridiculous and its for a great cause. Here's the link to our first promo video. Stay tuned for weekly updates on our quest to become the world's greatest boy band!

2) Apparently, Canadian Autism Intervention Research Network is not active at the moment. Instead, we have selected local foundation, Allies For Autism as our charity. They give back a lot of money and resources to many different places here in Calgary, so it's a perfect fit for what we're out to accomplish!
3) We have added The EarthTONES, a group that was nominated for Juno's in the 90's, to round out our bill for the evening. These guys are insanely talented and I am thrilled to have them on board with our project.
