Default Speed channel demise

From what I have read, speed channel has already been dropped by some providers and is being dropped by others May 31, 2014.

Does anyone know if anyone in canada will continue?

Lost it two days ago on Telus, poorly run station. It was either non stop Nascar coverage, or decent shows that were on there 20th rerun. Sad because it had potential.

Maybe TSN now that it's lost it's hockey will pick up some of the events like Moto GP. That's all I watched on that channel.

It was taken off of Bell on May 1. IIRC it was bought by Fox Sports, so I guess there wasn't enough content or profit just to keep it going in Canada.

So many good motorsport events around the world, and it only ever seemed to focus on Nascar. I won't miss it.

Speed Channel HD is still on my Shaw Digital Package on Channel 234. I rarely watch any shows on that channel because I am not into Nascar. I like the other shows though.

I like a lot of the shows but usually watch them online way before they even air in Canada. Like Table 5 mentioned, would have liked to see more events than just NASCAR. At least TSN has F1.

Kinda sad that we won't have a automotive channel anymore, but it's not like this one was any good anyway.

Crap. Where will I watch racing series other than Nascar or Indy now? Another notch in the internets belt.

Huge loss for me. They were really the only station that covered any form of dirt racing.

There has been some on CBS in the past, but not in recent times.

Hope that Mav TV makes it's way to Canada.

Now that CBS will be doing most of the outdoor nationals for MX and Fox Sports has taken over speed channel (I was unsure about at first but have gotten over it). I think this will be great for Supercross, Arenacross and Nascar. I would expect a revised "speed" channel in the near future.
