yeah I remember that name from development camp last year. Excited to see what he can bring, IIRC there were positive reviews after his play at camp.

I'm assuming he'll be fighting for a farm spot next year. Add the rumors of David Wolf coming over from Germany and this team might be extremely tough to play against next season. You may win, but you'll be leaving bloody and bruised for doing so.

by the way, he led the whole NCAA in PIM this season. Only three players with triple digits -

He was one of the better walk-ons during the development camp. Showed some skill on day 1, and was still somewhat noticeable in the following days. I don't think he has NHL potential unless he brings more than he has now. He should be a decent player for Abby though.

Apparently the Flames recently (i.e. within the last three weeks) ordered jersey nameplates for Gaudreau, Arnold, Agostino, and two other guys (who I believe are college free agents). Obviously nothing official, but it looks like the Flames expect JG (and Arnold) will be donning Flames sweaters at some point in the near future...

The two college free agents were Bryce Van Babrant (who I understand was invited to Flames development camp last year) and somebody with a crazy last name I had never heard of. Looking at the list in the OP, I believe it is this guy:

I wouldn't expect much offense out of him at the NHL or AHL level. Probably a 4th line guy for the Flames.

This is pretty exciting news. I think I prefer signing undrafted college players to undrafted CHLers, that extra couple years of maturity and size should speed development of the player tremendously.

SB Nation had him at number 78 on their "NCAA Top 100 NHL Prospects" list a couple of weeks ago.

78. Bryce Van Brabant, Forward, Quinnipiac (Free Agent)

The junior has really come on strong this season, potting 14 goals after having found the back of the net just nine times in his first two seasons combined. He's a big, powerful winger whose net presence is intimidating. He could play a myriad of roles at the next level, but a power forward who can bring toughness on the third or fourth line is probably his calling.
