Blood Pressure Monitors

My mum has been told by her doctor to get a blood pressure monitor to keep track of her blood pressure. Anyone have any knowledge about what to look for in a blood pressure monitor and/or which brands to look for (or avoid)?

I'd ask your pharamacist maybe? I got one at Shopper's Drug Mart so I could monitor my blood pressure at home while I was pregnant. I spent about $100 (it was on sale) and it can do all sorts of things I never used, like track history and show you morning and evening averages, irregular heart rates... I don't even know what else.

I got mine at walmart, had it dispensed by the pharmacist and claimed it through my ehc plan at work.

Maybe mine is a cheap unit, but the readings can vary a lot.
