I’ve said in the past that I wasn’t sure if Feaster was the man to lead this team back to the playoffs, but I felt that his tenure would always be looked at favorably, as the guy who “stopped the bleeding”. Now that he is gone I still believe that. He fixed the cap and contract issues that plagued the team, made some good moves and started to build up the Flames prospect pool. His tenure was far from perfect and he made his fair share of bad moves but, in my opinion, his bad moves haven’t crippled this team long term (thanks to some near misses) and the good will be helping this team for years to come
I think this is a very fair assessment about Feaster's time as GM.

Agree about Byron. He's looked good on the 4th line and he's the type of player I like to see on the 4th line as he has speed, determination and some natural offensive creativity unlike the typical 4th line plug.

Hartley has to be credited for getting the team to play much better defensively as they are on a roll letting in only 1 or 2 goals per game after being 30th overall in GAA for the season. The good defensive play has also coincided with Wideman being out of the lineup so it will be interesting to see if the defensive play changes when he comes back.

You could almost have given Smid the goat horns for letting Skinner get behind him in the 3rd leading to that penalty shot. That shouldn't happen.

3.Paul Byron: The diminutive Flames forwards played with a lot of energy tonight, racking up 2 assists for his efforts.

He's been impressing me with his ability to play on the PK as well as look dangerous with his plumber line mates. Damn we just have too many small players even if they are pretty good. Glad I'm not the one to decide who stays and who goes but Byron has been better than Baertschi.

I'd just like to note that after last nights game the Flames for the first time in a long time have a goalie with a SV% above .900

glad to get the win, but sheesh it was a messy game. when your 4th line and your pk unit are your best lines that's not a great look

Yeah, I've been hopefully waiting for that. Our goalies don't look so terrible if they have somewhat decent stats and they've been showing improvement. Ramo deserves some congratulations.

Watching the game last night, I was impressed with Backlund, but not with his original line mates: D.Jones – Galliardi. Wish he was paired with players who had a chance of generating offence.
