GAME 12 : Toronto Argonauts at CALGARY
Game Time : Saturday, September 21st @ 5:30pm McMahon Stadium
Televised : TSN & ESPN3
This is the second and final game of the regular season between these two teams. Last time they played Stampeders defeated the Argos in Toronto 35-14. That was the last game QB Ricky Ray played as he got injured in the first quarter when DE Charleston Hughes hit him. That was the last time Kevin Glenn started the game for the Stamps but had to leave in the 3rd Quarter after Khalif Mitchell tackled him.
OFFENSE
It looks like QB Kevin Glenn is healthy enough to be the starting QB in this game. Glenn stats on his last game againts the Argos was 14 completions on 20 attempts for 228 yards 2 TDs and No INT for 3 quarters of play. Glenn will have to play with 2 new wide receivers in Kenny Stafford and Airic Arnett. The receivers carousel took a turn last game when Mo Price injured his hip pointer. Before the injury Price was having an excellent game for the Stamps.
Stamps offense last week was okay especially early in the game. But Mitchell came through late in the game connecting to R Brad Sinopli on a 3rd down gamble then connecting a TD pass to Marquay McDaniel.
Stamps will be missing their top 2 Offensive Lines in Dmitri Tsoumpas and Dan Federkeil.
DEFENSE
Stampeders Front Seven led by DE Charleston Hughes been having good pressures lately. Stampeders is second in the league for QB sack. LB Deron Mayo been a great addition for the Stamps since he replaced the injured LB Malik Jackson. Mayo had 7 defensive tackles, 1 special tackle and 1 QB sack last game. LB/DB Keon Raymond was also having good season so far. Last game he recorded 7 defensive tackles and 2 pass knockdowns against the TiCats. Stamps defense will have to do the same pressures against the rookie QB Zach Collaros. Collaros has been inconsistent lately but he is finding a way to win late in the game though. Stamps D wouldn't have to worry about the 2 Chads for the Argos(RB Kackert and R Owens) as they are out of the game due to injuries.
SPECIAL TEAM :
Last game, Stamps was much improved in all facets. They were good in coverage and they were also good in blocking. Returner Larry Taylor finally had a breakout game and almost went all the way on a missed FG (103 yards). Taylor returned 6 punts for 108 yards for an average of 18.0 yards per return. One of his punt return was for 70 yards.
Punter Rob Maver won the Special Team player of week for his play against Hamilton. On his first punt, he booted the ball and dropped on Hamilton 1 yard line. In the 2nd half, Maver made some awesome plays...punting the ball for 52 yards and completing a pass on a fake punt to RB Matt Walter.
Kucker Rene Paredes went for 4 for 4 and one of the field goal was for over 40 yards.
GO STAMPS GO!!!!!

That Stampeder injury list is just....well....absurd.
And the reason why its impossible to think anyone could have a chance at coach of the year other than Hufnagel.

Bit of a sloppy game from both clubs thus far....Glenn looks a bit rusty and IMO the defense starting to show some weakness in the coverage game because of injuries.
See who makes the better adjustments at the half. Some guys were lookin gassed towards the end there.

First half is over. Calgary ahead 18-15. Both teams took advantage of the turnovers. Toronto fumbled the ball twice and Stamps scored TDs on both. Toronto intercepted Kevin Glenn's pass and scored a TD after. Difference was Rene Paredes 52-yard field goal while Swayze Waters missed the field goal a minute left into the end of first half.

On the plus side, game is tied up. The Stamps have to engineer a long drive here the D is exhausted or something.
