I like Jamal Watson down here in Lethbridge, super speedy and decent hands! Was surprised not to see him go late today!

Cole Bardreau was part of the US WJC team and passed over again in the draft. Pure defensive forward
Was going to also suggest Brendon Kitchon but just noticed the Jets nabbed him in the 7th round.

Matt Murphy of the mooseheads was skipped over too... some predicted he had a chance to go as high as the 2nd round:
Quote:
“Good size and outstanding footwork,” reads Murphy’s write-up in the independent scouting service Red Line Report, which ranks him 72nd overall in its draft guide. “Hard to knock off the puck. Not flashy but plays the game with an advanced approach, using his vision and mobility to both move the puck and break up plays. Sound positionally and does a good job pinning men against the wall. Anticipates well and is always on the right side of the puck. Stands up at the blue-line and forces puckhandlers wide.

Jesse Lees.
Needs a kick in the butt to get motivated, but lots of upside.

Would like to chime on on Lees.
Really feel like the skys the limit with him - frankly he could end up a better NHLer than Madison Bowey who went in the 2nd.
He doesn't blow you away with any one particular skill, and lacks intensity and isn't that hard to play against - probably why he went undrafted. But he's calm under pressure, delivers a nice pass and sees the ice well. His decision making is usually good. Decent stick. He's in the best organization in the WHL for developing d-men and could be a steal for some team still.
edit: as mentioned a real young player too. could absolutely come into his own this season on a team that has a good shot at playing for the Memorial Cup.
Surprised at Jamal Watson too - didn't get that many looks at him but he seemed to be a bright spot pigeonholed with bad linemates in a bad system on a bad team in a bad organization last year. Had some glimpses of real potential here and there.

What is the deal with Yuen? I remember reading a write-up about him last summer and how he was looking like a very legit prospect. What happened to make Winnipeg not care to sign him, or anyone else to draft him?

Matt Needham went undrafted? Wow. His offense dried up this season but still...

He only scored 12 points during the regular season (49 games) but scored 8 points in 13 games in the playoffs. Most people think that he was awesome in the playoffs for the Swedish champions. I am truly surprised that no one picked him up.

Junior of the year in Swedish elit league. Super performance in play offs.
Perhaps too small, but plays bigger. Very surprising, figured Detroit would pick him late.
Edit: beaten to it

Yuen may have just screwed himself over now by not signing with the Jets

It warms my heart that a player (Hoffman) refused to sign with a team, re-enters the draft only to go undrafted.

19 year old Slovenian goaltender Luka Gračnar was passed up (at least I don't see him on anyone's list). He was ranked 5th for European goalies at one point and has been progressing very well in the Erste Bank Eishockeyliga. I really thought someone would take a flyer on him this time, especially after almost upsetting Canada at the world's this year.

Me, I am glad those players who refused to sign with the team drafted them and re-entered the draft didn't get pick. I am also hoping no team will try to sign them as a free agent. By the way, i am just talking about those players who refused to sign and not those players that didn't get signed because the team that drafted them lost faith in them. Greediness has to stop at the young age.

Is it the prospect camp on the 10th they invite a bunch of undrafted guys as well? Or is that the Rookie camp later on?

He's probably a Canuck fan and will just sign with them as a free agent when he can.

Personally, I think Jean-Sebastian Dea stands out a bit. Great offensive player who is project pick, but is pretty low risk-high reward type of player if taken undrafted.
EDIT - I was about to bring up Brenden Kichton, but it looks like the Jets drafted him in the 7th.
