I believe in John Weisbrod. Feaster should be looking over his shoulder.
I believe in Ken King as the right guy to transition the community to a new hockey rink. That's a different thing than believing in him as a hockey guy.

I think Feaster has been smart about surrounding himself with hockey people (Weisbrod, Conroy and Goulet), but some of the decisions he made in the past year really make me nervous. I'm waffling on it to much to decide.
I think Tod Button has been around long enough that when we talk about management, at least as it pretains to re-building through the draft, he deserves to be part of the conversation too.

I think this organization made some bad/risky decisions in recent years because they were sticking to the "win with Iginla" mandate until the final year of his contract. IMO that was going to be the goal no matter what, even at he risk of it crippling us for a few years, unless Jarome himself came to them sooner and actually asked to be dealt.
That page has finally turned, and although I'm not 100% confident in this group, I'm willing to see what by can do now that the mandate has changed.

I can't possibly see why voters would say yes to Feaster.
As far as i am concerned he has made 2 good trades: Stempniak trade, and Exiron trade ( he was forced into that trade).
I thought the Reggie trade was fair until this year when i finally figured that Butler is no better than a bottom pairing d-man on a bad team. On a good team he goes in and out of pressbox. As far as i can see the Sabres ended up with 2 2nd round picks and the flames get what they get for Butler. Don't think Byron will make it.
I'll give him a pass on the Iggy trade. Thought the Boston deal was not bad at all.
Thought he failed in the JBO trade. He needed to eat some salary. Berra could have been had for a 7th.
He gives out clauses to bottom pairing d-men and pays to much money for most players he signs or re-signs.
He was lucky that Richards picked NY
He was lucky that the Av's matched.
He put forth a line up of soft small players.
He admited that he read this team wrong up until the Calli trip.
Most of all he said he did not want to be the GM of a rebuuild team.

Hard to believe in any mgmt team as long as Murray Edwards has his fingers in it.

On what basis can we say that "Berra could have been had for a 7th". Why would St. Louis give him up for nothing if they liked him. He could just continue to play over there and maybe some time down the road they give him a crack.

Kind of on the fence leaning more to yes, so I voted that way. I think overall the draft picks have improved from the previous group (IMO), but only time will tell. With the mandate to rebuild I think they are capable. I think under the circumstances they are off on the right foot having the 3 firsts.

Didn't choose because I am not sure where I fall.
I believe in Ken King as the president of the Calgary Flames Group.
I would like a new President of Hockey Operations to oversea that aspect with full autonomy (Burke, Davidson ilk).
I have no issue with Feaster's moves so far. The O'Reilly thing was a fiasco but I think the NHL should have clarified that in the rulebook, I would have read the rulebook and thought he was exempt too. Have liked our two drafts under Feaster though so that is a good point.

Yes to both. Feaster is ok because he comes with Weisbrod.

No basis for 7th, just going off the talking heads that said the Blues did not have him in their plans and that other than Calgary they did not think many teams would have wanted him.
I like Cundari but i still think the trade sucked.

Voted no to both, but its out of my hands so I'm not going to go berserk over them being here and assume every move they make is going to fail. Just hope they learn and make better decisions going forward. The trading of Iginla and Bouwmeester and attempted Kipper trade was a step in the right direction.

Feaster hasn't really "won" anything since he got here. In the NHL, it's about being better than your competition, and while Feaster has done a good job of "modernizing" how the Flames scout and evaluate talent, he hasn't made any "elite" GM moves and what he has done, has not made this team better in any way on the ice.
Jay Feaster's (notable) transactions since officially becoming GM on May 18th, 2011:
Signings:
Henrik Karlsson (3 years)
Brett Carson (2 years)
Chris Butler (2 years)
Brendan Morrison (1 year)
Anton Babchuk (2 years)
Brendan Mikkelson (1 year)
Scott Hannan (1 year)
Derek Smith (2 years)
Tim Jackman (2 years)
Roman Cervenka (1 year)
Blake Comeau (1 year)
Dennis Wideman (5 years)
Lee Stempniak (2 years)
Cory Sarich (2 years)
Jiri Hudler (4 years)
Mikael Backlund (1 year)
Steve Begin (1 year)
Danny Taylor (1 year)
Ryan O'Reilly (Failed RFA Offer-Sheet)
Joey MacDonald (1 year)
Trades:
1) Robyn Regehr, Ales Kotalik and 2013 2nd round pick to BUF for Chris Butler and Paul Byron
2) 2012 5th round pick to NJ for Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond
3) Rene Bourque, Patrick Holland and 2013 2nd round pick to MTL for Michael Cammalleri and Karri Ramo
4) 1st round pick in 2012 to BUF for 2012 1st and 2nd round picks
5) Jordan Henry and a 2013 5th round pick for Dennis Wideman's rights
6) Jarome Iginla to PIT for Agostino, Hanowski and 2013 1st round pick
7) Jay Bouwmeester to STL for Cundari, Berra, 2013 1st round pick
8) Blake Comeau to CLB for 2013 5th round pick

After seeing Cundari play, I am liking the Bouwmeester trade.

I believe in John Wiesbrod, Craig Conroy and our scouting staff which i guess means I believe in Jay Feaster to a point. Feaster had made some questionable moves as GM but he has also brought in Wiesbrod and Conroy and given our scouting staff direction while allowing them to do what they do best, which is something this team didn't have under Sutter.
I've always liked Ken King. The franchise was in complete shambles when King took over, and it was come a long way under his guidance.
