Is it wrong of me to think that China is just loving the problems North Korea is causing? It just seems they are waiting for an excuse to flex some muscle.

Is the Chinese military buildup more likely a show of support for NK and response to the increase of US presense, or a possible show of strength against them?
Cause even though they are allies, they have been increasingly more condemning of their actions.
Tough situation they are in. Course, being on the wrong side is often like that.

Honestly, as bad as it sounds, I want NK to push things too far this time. They are one of the largest human rights violators in modern times, and it's time for the world to stop ignoring them. Best case scenario IMO would be for NK to launch some kind of non-nuclear attack, then the US moves in full force and topples their government as quickly as possible. The fact that the Kim-Jung family has been allowed to stay in power for this long is disgraceful

China is pissed off by this, they refused to send a high level envoy at the request of NK just today, and said if they want to talk they can send on to China.
For China thats as close as we get to seeing the spank the disobedient child.
Oh quite unrelated by very interesting, questions put to a North Korean, in "ask a North Korean" very good stuff!

In an age after China was seeing as a developing hegemonic threat, China is seeing it's power waning economically and some sort of military intervention would reinvigorate the country a substantial margin. However, this would be a mountainous challenge for the Communist party and its effectiveness in righting the course for Chinese growth, as well as becoming a critical international player in geopolitical matters. They are heavily invested in Western industry and manufacturing on home soil, and would have to delicately tip-toe around spooking foreign investors.
I believe China has more at stake in this than any other world power in the Far East region.

This is why I don't think China would get involved like they did in the last go round.

Its a game of cat and mouse, no one will start a war. N. Korea recognizes the consiquences, China will not participate but always advocate talks and peace.

The problem is that North Korean soldiers have a bizarre ability to act independently and take initiative...always the chance a wildcard upsets the balance

The problem with North Korea is nobody is going to take them seriously until they actually do something. At this point they're really not much more than an empty threat.

It's all for internal propaganda towards their own people, to spin doctor that American is antagonizing them by conducting military drills, provoking confrontation, and plotting with South Korea. It's all lunacy really.
The country is so obsessed with public support of their actions to show that anything they do is justified. Too bad they see the international community on a completely different level.

Everyone calm the fata down, Anonymous got this:
Quote:
Hello, citizens of the world.
We are Anonymous
North Korean government is increasingly becoming a threat to peace and freedom.
Don’t misunderstand us: As well we disagree with the USA government too – these guys are crooks, USA is a threat to world peace too, and direct democracy (or any kind of democracy) doesn’t exist there. The American government is a target and enemy of Anonymous as well!
This is not about country vs country – This is about we, the people, the 99% (of USA and of North Korea) vs oppressing and violent regimes (like USA gov. and N.K. gov)!
We, the people, are gathering together because we are stronger now and we won’t fight your wars anymore, we won’t eat your #### anymore!!!
We demand:
- N.K. government to stop making nukes and nuke-threats
- Kim Jong-un to resign
- it’s time to install a free direct democracy in North Korea
- uncensored internet access for all the citizens!
To Kim Jong-un:
So you feel the need to create large nukes and threaten half the world with them?
So you’re into demonstrations of power?, here is ours:
- We are inside your local intranets (Kwangmyong and others)
- We are inside your mailservers
- We are inside your webservers
Enjoy these few records as a proof of our access to your systems (random innocent citizens, collateral damage, because they were stupid enough to choose idiot passwords), we got all over 15k membership records of http://www.uriminzokkiri.com and many more. First we gonna wipe your data, then we gonna wipe your badass dictatorship “government”.
To the citizens of North Korea we suggest to rise up and bring these mother####ers of a oppressive government down!
We are holding your back and your hand, while you take the journey to freedom, democracy and peace.
You are not alone.
Don’t fear us, we are not terrorist, we are the good guys from the internet. AnonKorea and all the
other Anons are here to set you free.
We are Anonymous
We are Legion
We do not forgive
We do not forget
Expect us!
