It seems that almost daily there are periods where the forums don't load or load really slowly...

What's up?

Hardware? Software? Firmware? Wetware? Eveningware?

EDIT: Made this post sticky and changed the title a bit to get people to post here.

Underwear!

It seems to be with the server itself rather than our software.

If you see a time when the forums are slow or down, please post here to let me know (when they come back up ) the approximate time. Then I can take that info to the host and find out what's up.

Any problems seen over the last week or so would be down to the hosting company merging with another company and the related issues with that. Should be resolved now (famous last words!)

Is there some reason why the board time (e.g. the "posted at" time) is off by ~12 minutes?

It may be that, when travelling down a hill yesterday, I reached speeds fast enough to send me 12 minutes into the future, but you may want to look into other sources just to be sure.

Test the time post...

EDIT: Yeah, the time on the server must be off. The hosting company would have to reset that, we'll see what we can do.

Was unable to get on for the past few hours... say between 12am and 2am on May 25th. Got a "too many connections" error.

Yeah, the database seemed to go away for quite a while until scottie restarted things for us.

Site's running really slow for me today, seems it can't connect to the advertising portion of each page, so to load each thread takes forever.

Yeah we had some significant downtime the past few nights. We're looking into some stuff to get it resolved.
