Default Good foods/drinks that help you sleep

Anyone have any ideas what foods or non alcoholic drinks to have before bed to help one sleep sound?

Milk . . . . but it doesn't have to be breast milk.

Stop eating or drinking things by five or six p.m. if you're going to bed by 10 p.m. You'll sleep better.

My sleep improved a lot after I started drinking green smoothies for breakfast and in general eating a lot more leafy greens.

I don't care for the taste, myself. But it comes in great containers.

I try and have a cup of Sleeytime Tea about half an hour before I go to bed. It's just a relaxing tea that helps your mind slow down a bit. I steep two bags in one cup. You can buy it anywhere, and the box looks like this:

Breastmilk is the best thing to help kids sleep. Looking at breasts online for a few minutes works better as an adult.

If I were to drink anything before going to bed I would probably wake up in the middle of the night having to take a piss. Not my idea of 'sound sleep' through the night.

What I would suggest is if you are having troubles sleeping is to try and take some time to decompress before going to bed. Try not to stress out or think about work before bed. Meaning, maybe hold off on watching the news or anything that is going to make your head spin for an hour while you lay in bed.

Probably just a better idea to read a book or just to do something that relaxes you to get better sleep at night.

If you're having trouble staying asleep all night and you're going to bed early (around 10), try staying up a couple hours later to build up some sleep pressure. Stay up until midnight for a week straight, then start going to bed earlier by 15 minutes over the next few days, then earlier by 15 minutes again, etc. until you find the sweet spot. Getting six hours of quality sleep is much better than eight or nine of restless/poor quality sleep.

+1 for Nyquil. If I need to get a solid nights rest for whatever reason, a shot of that will knock me out within 30 mins. You do feel a little groggy first thing in the morn but after getting out of bed you are good to go.

What time do most people go to bed? I don't go to sleep until 12:30, but I don't have to wake up until 7:30.

Beer makes me sleepy. Swimming after dinner too.

Yeah, there's nothing like an evening swim to tire me out completely.

I think it's the combination cardiovascular exercise with the weightless stretch.

Sleep like a baby afterwards.
