Are there any medical clinics open today?

just wondering if anyone knows a clinic in Calgary that's open on holidays. what i thought was a mild sore throat has turned into a fairly big infection, and now i can barely swallow anything. it feels like half my throat is closed off, and if i let the muscles relax (like when i'm trying to sleep) it closes off almost completely and i have a hard time breathing. i haven't slept now for 24 hours so i'm kinda getting desperate. even if i could get some over the counter medication to reduce the inflammation so i could get some sleep, that would be nice

Nothing over the counter will reduce the inflammation

Thanks for the tip, this place is great. 15 minutes from the time I walked in the door to seeing the doc. Guess now I should post in the strep throat thread because that's the diagnosis

The Sheldon Chumir is great. Had my arm x-rayed and casted within an hour and a half.

well whatever it is, the anti-biotics haven't kicked in yet and the throat rinse they gave me doesn't do anything. my throat is even worse now, to the point where i can't eat solid food (if i try, a gag reflex kicks in when i try to swallow and i damn near vomit). even water is a huge challenge to choke down. i'm gonna go back to the Sheldon Chumir tomorrow, because i don't know what else to do at this point. my head is pounding, i still can't sleep, i'm starving, and i've got so much phlegm coming up that it almost chokes me at times. god this sucks
