The Official 2011/12 Thread for the English Cups & Football League
With the new season starting properly in about an hour, it's probably time to get this thread under way again.
Up the Cherries!
I'll take a draw at Charlton.
Good luck for the season to the rest of you, whatever your teams may be...

Great opening win for Saints yesterday vs. Leeds United. 3-1.
Fans were singing about Portsmouth the whole game.

It's extremely early but with around 14 new players arriving at the Valley over the summer, I think it could be a new dawn for the club. In the past, I have mentioned the need for a cleaning of the house at SE7 and I think Chrissy Powell may have done the deed. I hope he has! Red Army!!!

I find it entirely amusing that Leicester have have lost their second game on the trot. Splashing the cash is a sure fire way to win, right Sven?

Apparently QPR just had a bid turned down by West Ham for Scott Parker.

Thats too bad, that might be a good fit.
I have to say, despite supporting Liverpool, I always like to see the promoted clubs do well, they're new and exciting.
Blackpool was well worth their money last season, they were a blast to watch.

I'd just like to see West Ham's midfield get weaker
Too bad the deal couldn't get done before tomorrow...

Things looking grim for West Ham against Aldershot Towne.
That is bad news. Good thing they've got a nice new stadium in a couple of years.

What, do you mean that Scott "Saviour of England's Midfield" Parker and his horrible hair can't single-handedly win the match for WH against a League 2 side?
Shocking.
Edit: Damnnit he didn't play.

What do you have against Scott Parker? Seems like an innocuous guy to hate.

Haha, I don't hate him, I just dislike how the media talk about him as though Zidane has dropped down to the Championship. I also dislike how the WH supporters cheer every 10 yard pass he makes like he's Xavi.
And c'mon, that hair is just plain awful.

How did Exeter look against Liverpool? Too bad they couldn't pull out a draw or shock win, but at least they scored I guess.
Either way, great opportunity for the supporters to see a big club in their tiny ground once again. Memories.

18 minutes into the Carling and Arsenal are already down 1-0 to Shrewsbury Town.
