Wow, that could have easily been disastrous if the car didn't turn to hit the pole in the back end.

Cool, but no way did he hit @ 220 KPH like the video suggests. In anything but an Indycar an impact at that speed with a stationary object is typically fatal.

Agreed, at that speed they would be covering 60 meters per second. I doubt they were going much faster than half that speed.

The car probably wasn't going anywhere close to 220 km/h to start, and would have slowed down by a significant amount from the snow before hitting the pole. Probably only 60-80 km/h max when the pole was struck.

If the car had hit the pole with any other face, there would either have have injuries or damage that would have ended the race for them - pretty lucky.
