Default 2012 Best Places To Live In Canada

http://list.moneysense.ca/rankings/b...2=1&d1=a&sc1=0

Edmonton, Red Deer, Winnipeg, Regina, St. Albert, Strathcona, Brandon, I know all these places well and I don't think they are better than Calgary. Whoever came up with this list should be fired.

I would think that as soon as Regina showed up in the top ten they would have realized there was a fatal flaw in their formulas.

According to the rankings, Winnipeg has better weather than Kelowna. That's hilarious.

walk and bike to work and affordable housing kill us ... and you can't really argue with that in this city. It's obvious a lot of weight is put into those.

Those are some pretty terrible cities in the top 20.

Dead Rear is pretty awful as well. I was stuck there for a night last year so I thought I'd treat myself by staying in the best hotel room in the city and eating at their finest restaurant. It was pathetic. What a scuzzy town.

Got fired for trying to substitute actual pizza sauce on the pizza instead of the ketchup we would normally use.

I grew up just 30 miles north of Regina, still have a lot of relatives living in the province, and go back a couple of times a year to visit them.

Regina showing up as #5 is an absolute joke. About 35 to 38% is native now and there are sections in Regina that you simply do not want to visit. That sector of the the city has high unemployment, putting a severe strain on social services in the city. That sector as well as the many seniors in the city, also put a strain on the already challenged medical system in that province.

Four years ago, my father was hospitalized with a broken hip and I saw what goes on in that province in their hospitals. Alberta is the crème de la crème compared to Saskatchewan when it comes to shortage of doctors and the inadequacies of the health care system. And don't get me started on what goes on in some of the nursing home facilities that are out in the boon docks and can only attract subpar doctors.

Walking or biking to work in Regina is a complete joke in winter.

I don't care about biking. In fact, a lot of people hate bikers in rush hours so this should be a plus for Calgary.

The methodology is bogus. To me, the criteria for the best place is simple, giving you a choice, where would you want to live? I bet not too many people would chose Brandon or Winnipeg, over Calgary and Canmore.

I am pretty sure this list is supposed to say "best places to live if you work at Wal-Mart"

The Economist knows better. They rank Calgary the 5th best livable city in the world!

Kelowna at 144 is a tad on the low part.
