Question Children Birthday Parties

This is a question for all the parents out there.

Where do you guys celebrate your kids birthday parties?

My daugther has done at Chuck E Cheese, but to be honest we don't like that place much, we always have bad service and really bad attitute from the manager.

My dauther wants to have her party at the movies, but is it possible? Do they host birthday parties there?

My boy wants to have his birthday party at LaserTag, that place seems like a lot of fun.

I am just looking for any ideas,

Thanks

Ozzy

The do birthday parties at the theater in Chinook I think, others may as well.

The leisure centers do birthday parties as well, those can work well.

The Science Centre does birthday parties, we've had one there.

There's a ceramics/pottery place in the SE that does birthday parties as well, kids go there and make and paint their own piece of art, we've done that before too.

I had a friend who just did a birthday type outing at Shakers and they said they had a ton of fun. Also my brother did his sons at the bowling alley out in Cochrane and they did a decent job hosting it. They were able to bring all of there own supplies and birthday cake. They supplied the pizza that wasn't the greatest but the kids don't notice the difference and they had a blast bowling.

Thanks guys, I will try Shakers. I also like the idea of having it at the Space Science Centre.

Hey Photon, do you know the name of the ceramics/pottery place in the SE?
My daughter likes to do art things...

Thanks Guys

The other thing we've done is there's a couple of organizations where they will come in and do the birthday party for you, they bring almost everything, all the kids get to dress up, works pretty well:

(Warning, this will start playing music)

http://www.enchantedevents.ca/index.html

http://www.madscience.org/locations/calgary/

There's a whole list here:

My kid would like the reptile one, mad science one, and the petland one.

There's no science centre open to have a party at until the end of October, when the new one opens up.

I know where you can get a good deal on a cake. The name might be wrong, but the price is right.

That's pretty much the definition of a kids birthday party.

Except those theme ones, I think the one we did was the anabellsattic one, though I can't remember for sure, and they were GREAT. The only thing we did was make the food and cake, and they did everything else; setup, entertained the kids for a few hours, fed them, cleaned up, everything!

They aren't cheap, so not sure if I'd do it again, but they certainly made it about the most stress free one we've done.

One thing kids like is to be tricked. For instance, I was going to take my little nephew to Disneyland, but instead I drove him to an old burned-out warehouse. “Oh, no,” I said. “Disneyland burned down.” He cried and cried, but I think that deep down, he thought it was a pretty good joke. I started to drive over to the real Disneyland, but it was getting pretty late. - Jack Handey

And Mom can hide quarters wrapped in wax paper, in the birthday cake.
