Does the right thing by taking care of his elderly parents and ends up homeless. Meanwhile most people would have said screw it and put their parents in a home regardless of how they felt.

Hope he doesn't get the sudden fame that happened to the golden-voiced homeless guy.

Now, I could be wrong here, but this guy doesn't seemed to be hooked on smack. I doubt he'll be bouncing in and out of rehab

That's really unfortunate. He sounds like a decent guy. I hope he can make his way out to the west coast though and find something in Seattle or Silicon Valley. As much as some start-up companies suck salary-wise, if its a promising technology then stock options are always nice although not easily convertible to the necessities of life.

Hopefully he can stay optimistic and not get dragged down.

If he has an aeronautics degree, Bawston is the wrong city for him to be in.

A seeminly nice guy like that cant get a job, and yet my useless cousins jacka$$ husband with a twitchy white eyebrow can - how is life fair.

Too bad he's in a industry so limited. The thing about his industry is, you don't need to be a genius... he sounds like a guy that does systems level. With cutbacks in his field in a limited industry, where the work is pretty generic, it doesn't help to be overqualified. There are also a lot of masters students out there doing jobs fit for a undergrad or technician... c'est la vie. Also, I don't know about Boeing, but I know Lockheed and NASA tend to be very hierarchy-type and a bit political because of that... and its not like his skills are necessarly transferable to, say, Nvidia. If you have a good job, be fortunate, it takes more than smarts and a degree to get a job, and if the planets aligned for you, great.

If he's doing aircraft design, there are really only a handful of companies to work for. If he has an electrical background as well, that could be transferable to companies that build auxilary systems for planes like General Dynamics or CAE, or whoever. Still, I doubt he'll find much on the East coast.

Also, on the topic of being homeless in a certain locations.. Why cold places? I know the homeless probably don't have a lot of money, but wouldn't you try to scrape together enough to take a bus or hitchhike somewhere warm like Cali or Florida? If I were homeless, I'd get the hell out of anywhere that hot miserably cold or snowy.
