Roller Hockey

I dont think many of you play roller hockey, but it is a ton of fun. There is a league here in Calgary (www.calgaryrollerhockey.com) But it extremely small compared to Edmontons. Edmonton has 5 times as many teams. And the league is just finishing up now. Im trying to get more people into it as it bugs me to see our league so small. (Note: I dont work for Calgary Roller Hockey, just trying to get more people to play and get it more competitive)

So you only play twice a week, at arenas like Shouldice, Frank Mccool, and a couple others. Its 4on4, with no icing, and games get quite high scoring. I personally like it more than ice hockey.

You can also put together a custom team, which is what I do. With all my friends. And the cost comes to around $300. Which is pretty cheap. Equipment is cheap as well, because you dont need much of it.

Its very fast paced, and a ton of fun. I'd recomment looking into it. Season starts in April ends late June. The age groups are U10, U12, U14,U16, and Adult.

some of my buddies play roller hockey in the Calgary area. they seem to claim its a lot of fun. i might try it out next year. what division do you play in?

I play both ice and roller hockey. I have been playing on the same roller hockey team for about 10 years. I didn't know a single person on the team when I joined.

I played ice hockey growing up, but just kind of stopped playing. I recently just started playing ice again after not playing for 10 years. I think right now I enjoy ice more, mainly because it is kind of a new thing to me. Roller hockey is alot of fun and alot of that has to do with the people. A couple guys from my Roller hockey team play on my ice hockey team so I at least knew a couple people when joining.

Also I play out in Langley at sportsplex.

So, do you play Calgary roller hockey league? Probably adult league, if you have played for 10 years? Mabye Ill play you next year!

i play out in ladner.....been playing roller for 5 years. tons of fun.

Do they have a league out in Ladner? I play at www.sportsplexbc.com. Our team name is the garbagemen. We have a couple Ladner residences on our team.
