Default Best BBQ Grills

I'm looking to buy a grill for my new place, and just wondering which is the best.

Taste the meat not the heat! Propane!

I got this http://www.homedepot.com/Outdoors-Gr...atalogId=10053

Works great, at a decent price and it has a very even cooking surface temps.

Weber. You're welcome.

They are expensive....but outstanding. Charcoal or gas...Weber enjoys an outstanding reputation.

If you plan to BBQ a lot, get a more reputable brand such as weber and not those $100 dollar walmart ones. My parents bought me a new weber BBQ and it's way better than my old one. However, if you only do it a few times a year then it probably wouldn't even matter to you.

I would however suggest you get a propane and a charcoal. I love the flavor a charcoal grill lets off, just setting it up and maintaining it is a PITA. Really great having both options to revert to.

x2. Formerly had Wal-Mart Chinese made unit which failed after a couple of years and ended up replacing most parts shortly after. Bought Genesis natural gas model for around $750. Meat and other food actually tastes better with their flavorizer bar. Heats up quickly and very solidly built. $750/10 years of use(at least)=$6-7 cost per month. Spend a bit more for quality you can trust and feel good about using each time.

Broil King gets my vote for 2nd choice.

i was looking at webers and the e-330 seems to be the top choice for 2011.

Where are the best places to get bbq? I know someone mentioned home depot, but where are some other places with pretty good prices?

isn't this place in the BBQ district?

if you decide that a weber is too rich for your blood Can Tire carries Centro grills and we have had one for 6 years now and it works very well - although when it comes time to replace it i'd like to go with a weber.....

A couple of times during the spring/summer, home depot will have %20 off which was the cheapest I found. I'm pretty sure Rona carries Webber and probably has similar sales as well.

Webber, Broil King...Those would be my 2 picks.

I picked up a Broil King Signet 70 for $500 a few years ago and I love it. Also have a portable Broil King for camping. Well made BBQ's that last a long time.

Never had a Webber but I've only heard good things about them.

Weber is a step up from Broil King. Webers are thick and bulky (just like my ex wife) and have some amazing features; sear station, stove, 4 burners, etc.

Definitely go to Barbecues Galore - there's one on Edmonton Trail near 32nd as well. Those guys know their stuff, but have a budget in mind before you go in - that place is a Toys R Us of barbecues, and it would be easy to overspend.

We have a Broil King (Propane) and a Big Green Egg (Charcoal)

Have had the Broil King for about 5 years now and need to rebuild it this spring. It sits out and gets used all winter though most of the time not covered. have been quite happy with it.

The Big Green Egg is the best thing since sliced Bread and can't be matched in my opinion. everything from Pizza, Steak, Chicken or a low and slow Pulled Pork or Briscit there isn't a more versitile grille out there.

I own and Weber E-310 - no issues for me (other than it can get a little smokey at times)

I purchased it online from Home Depot - free shipping BBQ for the win!

How hot do your Weber Genesis BBQ's get? Mine maxes out around 500F although the gauge goes way above that.

That's more likely a byproduct of the elevation in Calgary and not the barbecue. The Broil King at my cabin in Manitoba can easily, easily get over 700 degrees. My barbecue in Calgary tops out around 500, and that's in perfect conditions (sunny day, no wind).

I have the same one and it's great. Got a good deal at Home Depot too as they priced matched BBQ Galore's price and beat it by 10% and I saved another 10% by signing up for credit card.

The Genesis has a bigger grill area which is always better, but not an issue for me as I am usually only cooking for two. Also I would have preferred heavier gauge grates, but that is something I can also upgrade to. But great grill.
