Default Jon Quick

There is a fair amount of interest in Quick since I acquired him. Ive received some tempting offers but figured id make a thread to see what else is out there before deciding. Apologize to anyone waiting to hear from me but I'm in no hurry to make a trade and may just keep Quick for now.

Anyone interested can PM me a offer. It would have to include a legitimate starting goalie coming back to me that could hold that position for at least a couple seasons. I am open to things but would prefer to stick with the rebuilding theme. Please don't ask me what I want. Send me your best offer and we can go from there.

We think QUick is a great goalie and are very happy to have him in a Jackets uniform. Halak is OK but he doesn't look too good in the NHL playing a lot of games and he STINKS in the sim. We gave up a mid round 1st and a good prospect but we think Quick is worth it.

Now maybe Quick can help Nittymaki and keep getting those wins!

Love the deal for CBJ, I think Halak is a bust already.

Fair trade.

Quick certainly has more value right now then Halak but this can change in couple of weeks. If Quick doesn't shine in the playoffs then the Kings will likely split Quick and Bernier next year.

Halak has been too inconsistent this year partly due to injuries suffered by that Blues team. Next year if they stay healthy should give a clearer indication of where he sits.

Well Halak is certainly not a bust. He has struggled a little this year mainly because of a lot of important blues players missing time due to injury. But to say Halak is a bust is very inaccurate and premature.

Sorry, been away and couldn't reply to this thread.

Halak being still very young is what gave Dave the edge for me. Halak went through a rough stretch this season but has looked real good of late. He just signed a 4 year contract with the Blues so hes not going away anytime soon. Comparing Quick to Halak Sim wise moving forward there probably wont be much if any difference rating wise. So being able to gain some prospects back which I lost when I acquired Quick was nice.

In my opinion Quick and Halak will have a large difference in ratings come rerate time.

One goalie has 178 NHL games under his belt the other 184.

Both goalies are currently rated 79 overall.

Both have played the same number of games this season.

Save % is .909 and .919 respectively

Its anyones guess what happens comes re rate time but maybe I missed the bus when I determined there ratings would not have a "large difference" between them.

Luongo lost 3 ov for having a mediocre season last year. Halak's season was worse than that. Quick now has 3 full seasons under his belt, which from what I understand is how you get a full decent rerate, and this year being his best. I'm guessing he's going to get a really good rerate.

IMO Halak will get 78 and quick will get 82-83. I think that is a large difference.

I may be the one missing the bus though, but it would appear goalies rerates are weighted more in the most recent year than skaters.

The top idea is to not guess re-rates.
