I assume council has to at least vote on it.

It'll happen when Nenshi convinces 7 other alderman to support his position. It's not like you elected a dictator or a party leader.

City council does not work like that.

Its times like this when I'm glad you don't live within the city limits. Even after they get rid of the $3 fees, I hope they implement some sort of extra charge for people from Okotoks, Airdrie, Cochrane, De Winton, to use our C-train.

No charge for people from High River? Chestemere? Nanton? Blackie? Bearspaw? Edmonton? BC?

THey have been looking at this for years. They want to extend C train lines into remote communities but it will be years before we see it

I hope they keep it. I am all for taxing the users to pay for the c-train rather than taxing everyone.

I hope they get rid of it. Before charging for parking they should be making sure that everyone who uses the system is paying for it. This whole honor system is garbage and the fact that I now have to pay twice to use the c-train while other jack-offs just walk on is ridiculous.

De Winton eh?

You don't live in this city, and don't pay taxes in this city, therefore your opinion doesn't matter! Just be glad there's no tolls on the roads to drive into the city and shut up!

It is however hilarious when the c-train police do show up to look for tickets and you watch people scramble trying to avoid them.

I say keep it. Ever since it was implemented a couple years ago I have actually been able to park at the C-Train station AFTER 7:30 am. Plus, if Nenshi abolishes the fee, its not like they're just going to live with the money they lose, they will find somewhere else to get it and it will probably involve non-C-train users.

Enough council members will vote in favour of keeping the $3 fee.

I used to drive to the station, park for free and then hop on the train without paying. The trains were so packed during rush hour, I would never get checked. I'd pay the occasional time when I had to come into work early or stay late.

Since they implemented the $3 parking fee, the C train is nowhere near as busy so I couldn't ride it for free anymore. I now buy a buss pass every month ands take the express bus.

So the parking fee worked on me. I went from paying under $50 a year to over $1000.
