You should have donated some money to amateur sports. It might have made a difference.

Maybe we can get Summer McIntosh to pick up speed skating so we can have a chance in 4 years.

But seriously what is going on with the last two Olympics? Will 4-5 gold medals become the norm now? Lack of funding or are kids being pushed out of these sports at an early age due to the expense? Crazy how far this country has dropped since 2010
Canada does well at many sports until other countries take them up seriously.

I've talked myself around to this being an embarrassment for Team Canada. Apparently Curling does police the hog line with sensors on the handle of the rock, so players don't have to police themselves in that regard, but the rules are clear that you have to release before the hog line.

The rules don't expressly forbid touching the granite, but it's clear enough that you're supposed to deliver from the handle. Grazing the granite unintentionally on release before the hog line would be one thing, but this seems to be a double whammy of intentional touch on the hog line. If it didn't matter he wouldn't have done it.

It would be embarrassing for curling if touching the rock beyond the hog line is a self-policed grey area thing. If that's the case they need to fix it now.

I want a Zapruder film on every questionable release from the match, but this link shows 2 examples that look fairly clear, so Kennedy's reaction is pretty embarrassing IMO.

The Americans are lucky they're in the Mickey Mouse group with three lower ranked teams. With how the US played today they would of had trouble with Switzerland or Slovakia.

It's setting up to be a US-Sweden quarterfinal.

Almost certain:

1. Canada
2. US
3. Slovakia
4. Finland
-------------------
7. Sweden
10. Denmark
11. France
12. Italy

The winner of Switzerland-Czechia will be 5 or 6, loser 8 or 9

Latvia will be 5 or 6
Germany 8 or 9

Every year - and will be there in four weeks.

Well, I’ll be in Canmore, but in Banff every day.

Would the Americans be better off losing tomorrow and end up in 3rd or 4th? They'll never do that, but it's something they should be considering.

Canada vs. Germany would be great television. I would love to see McDrai lay each other out.

The US would have to lose to Germany by 3 to lose the group and be the 4th seed. That would be suspicious.

It is actually against the rules to touch the granite while making a delivery.

No inappropriate touching!

Who knew that Curling was going to be the spiciest a-meatball at these Olympics?
