Maybe Gluegun wants to introduce the Iron Lotus into Dallas' scheme.

Oilers were perhaps the slowest skating team last season.....

Well...I dont know if you can land that at Pelletier's feet...You can lead a horse to water...etc.

I guess 11 years in a pro hockey environment gives Pelletier insight into the game itself.

Maybe he's also good at throwing sticks.
I can’t see GG hiring a better stick thrower than himself.

I’m sure every time someone moves on from Edmonton their phone blows up with multiple “take me with you!”.

Side effect of being the oldest team in the league. I don’t know how good of a skating coach Pelletier is compared to the GOAT in Fujita, but I doubt he can fix that specifically.

Until I see otherwise, I doubt Pelletier is going to be behind the Dallas bench or making tactical decisions.

That said, it could turn out either way. Tommy Gorman is in the HHOF for his work as a coach and GM, and he never played hockey at all. His background was in lacrosse.
Has an assistant/associate coach ever been hired in the NHL and not worked behind the bench for games? Genuine question.

A number of teams have an assistant coach who is up in the press box full-time to observe the play from above. Video coaches sometimes get the ‘assistant coach’ title. Several teams have four assistant coaches, but they certainly don't have five guys standing behind the bench.
