This is the challenge when you have too many prospects at once. Reaves is a minus value contract and that is all they could get.

When we trade Ras, we need to target 2027 1sts that are unprotected vs getting a 2026 1st.

Good thing for the Flames is, they have vets with value as prospects push players out. Trading B level prospects that haven't proven anything yet often results in getting nothing as teams all have their own prospects they value more than yours and probably only pay for the prospects you want to keep.

I’m assuming Thrun just ain’t got it… and they want Reeves in their dressing room.

How does Reaves still find work? Face punching is not a thing anymore.

I think it is more making a call on a few guys and keeping the younger players.

The have Thompson, Cagnoni and Mukhamadulin that all could play this season.

Thrun could be ok, but SJ picked to move him out of the 4 and they need to get to the cap floor. Toronto benefitted from it.

Sidebar, but it annoys me that a center like Michael Misa was available in the draft, and of course he's drafted by an organization that already has Celebrini and Smith. Leave some for the rest of us, why don't you?

Anyway, Thrun for Reaves. Well. That's a thing. Looks terrible for San Jose, but then again, remembering the Sharks fans in the ATLs this year, it seems Thrun did too.

Did you watch the Florida playoff run? Intimidation is still the name of the game.

Just wait until Pittsburgh wins the lottery next year and gets McKenna.

Florida distracts you from how skilled they were by also being gritty.

In the end the reason they won was because they had like 9 forwards that were above .8 pts/g in the playoffs.

There was no Reaves on Florida, they just have guys that can play gritty.

Florida did win with that fourth line but god almighty I was holding my breath every time they were on the ice. Nosek especially was just ... awful.

Boy, I feel like we were watching two different games. That 4th line was quite good, and Nosek was a solid two-way presence. I also recall a lot of commentary from the broadcast on how effective that 4th line was all playoffs.

We see what we want to see I guess.

Exactly, just look at the young stars that have had their careers derailed because players were taking runs at them and they didn't have a Reaves to protect him. First there's....oh ya there's also.....umm well anyway just look at how often Celebrini had players taking runs at him last year, he even got injured! Oh that was from a trip, not someone taking a run at him? Players arent actively trying to hurt young stars? Hmm well it's a thing anyway, regardless of the lack of proof or examples.

Outside of Nosek they all played under 9 minutes every game even in the blowouts. Seems like Maurice didn’t trust them much.

Also how Florida dummied them at home shows how the line matches worked for Maurice.

They 100% less minutes than other teams 4th lines but other teams don't have the depth in the top three lines that the Panthers have. Evgenii Dadonov and
Oskar Back played more minutes per game for Dallas but they did less with those minutes. Florida got Marco Sturm for some depth and they ended up going back with the bruisers.

Not going to get me calling any of great players but they did everything asked of them and were praised for it. There's probably a reason Maurice made sure they were the last line on the ice as the time ticked down in the final game.

Holding ones breath each time they were on ice? That's some dramatic effect right there.

Thun will probably be on waivers to start the season. A nothing trade.

Reaves is past his best before date, but there was a time that I would have loved to have him on the Flames. He was a good 4th liner and intimidating as hell.

Not to nitpick but shots were 23-10 EDM with the Nosek line on the ice at 5v5 in the Final, it was pretty ugly
