Andrew Basha with a goal and an apple last night for the Tigers in a 4-3 win over the Hitmen. Really clicking well with the Ruck boys not only on the PP, but as a line. A couple of shifts last night they hemmed the Hitmen in their own zone for close to 90 seconds.

Interesting development wise ...
Struggled in the AHL, but blows away the WHL.
Would love to see one of those D+2 charts with both leagues in it.

He got limited minutes as a 19 year old in the AHL coming off an injury ridden year.
Not concerned about Basha, I expect he'll have a much better 20yo season in the AHL.

He really didn't play much, so I think his struggles stemmed from that.
That and Sutter is struggling as a coach, so he might be a factor as well.
Either way, Flames need to draft the Wrucks.

Given his age and pedigree he's definitely supposed to be putting up points at a high rate so that's good to see. The big wildcard factor here is if he can stick at centre next year back with the Wranglers, would be a huge value add for him moving forward.
Really like Basha, hope this is a good springboard back into contention for the big club after such an unfortunate injury last year.

WHL points per game leaders:
1. Iginla 1.82
2. Miettinen 1.56
3. Woo 1.54
4. Basha 1.52
5. Pickford 1.50
EDIT: Woo is undrafted, and a Dman
EDIT: Pickford is also a Dman and was drafted by the Habs the next pick after the Flames took Phillips

Tacoman, do you have some feedback on why Basha struggled so much in the AHL?

I get that they were trying to get something different out of that pick but this one could be a TOUGH look in a couple years.
