Interim construction/work measures around the line to limit disturbances.

not really understanding the value gained by closing that 1 lane of 16th Ave westbound from about the Bow River Bridge until just past Sarcee, except for the midpoint shortcut across to Superstore (and to get onto Sarcee). It's just an absolute cluster f*kc afterwork. Are they THAT concern about vehicle vibrations and/or surface loading on a road that's been in place for decades? Is the pipe in that vicinity really that tenuous? And if so.. why aren't they doing that dig right now too?

And this is why fixing the pipes was continuously pushed off until it was unavoidable.

Problem reaches breaking point.

Citizens: “Wtf city?”

City does literally anything preventative.

Seriously... I promise you, whatever your inconvenience level, it's not as significant as people living around the staging area. But it has to be done.

On the update that Fuzz just posted, it seems that there are 4 repair locations in close proximity in that area - more than any of the other spots slated for repairs in March. So I think that it is safe to say that there is a very high risk of a rupture in that area, hence the extra precautions.

Should be an interesting month for closures and traffic in that area. Hopefully that prevents any new ruptures until the new feeder main is complete, but I still think that we'll have at least one more.

Not sure clear from that graphic but that looks like the TCH/Sarcee interchange will be dramatically affected?

Sure, let's store Angels Cafe for three years for free. Despite having no legal requirement to do so. Plus they are suing the city at the same time. https://calgaryherald.com/news/angel...er-main-repair

Whither fiscal conservative Dan McLean on this one?

"The city should have fixed this - we're suing!"

City starts fixing it properly.

"Not like that!"

I'd have a little sympathy, but the perpetual victimhood of the Convoy Cafe is all a bit much. Not just in the feeder main era, either.

Wonder how Marda Loop/Montgomery/Bowness business owners feel watching this continual coddling of that business?

Why are they catering to that dillhole at all. Tie her to a train to the states and get rid of her.
