He also tends to take penalties that deplete the other team's player's health bar significantly. Like innocently elbowing a goalie out of a series.

lol same thing people now say about Kadri. The same Kadri who was also a 2C on a recent cup champ

During the game on the 12th when the Panthers were up 3-0 Bennett takes a dumb slashing penalty on Bouchard. The oilers score on the ensuing PP. The Oilers then make the comeback and win by a goal.
We could go back and forth with this all playoffs. That's the kind of player Bennett is. Yes, his physical play looks great on the highlights when the Panthers win. Not at much fun on a more borderline club that loses by a goal due to a dumb penalty.

They’ve been to the finals 3 years in a row. I think it’s worth it.

Ahahahahah. Some people are so sad about Bennett being a winner. He's a beauty.

I don't know what that has to do with Bennett when he was playing with the Flames, but OK. Bennett was on the block for a while in his last season with the Flames and the best they could get was a late 2nd (61st OA) and tier 2 prospect (Flames also sent a 6th rounder to Florida). Obviously GMs across the league weren't pining for him at the time.
Like I said, I like the player he is now, but he was was terrible in his last year with the Flames and he is responsible for a lot of that. Kadri took criticism for bad streaks, but he never had seasons where he was complete ass like Bennett did.

His penalties in Calgary, especially in his 2nd and 3rd year, were more hooks and holds, usually when he was a little wild on the forecheck. He was trying to steal pucks from behind and be offensive.
He’s found a better balance between offence and checking now.

He was never complete ass. That’s a wild exaggeration and straight copium.

Hoping Bennett scores a hat-trick and takes that Conn Smythe trophy along with the Stanley Cup tonight!

I agree. Bennett has been dynamite for the Panthers this run. No disputing that. When he's not in circumstances where he shines offensively, he will continue to make the boneheaded plays though.
