Well, walking is a little easier if you ride a cart for the hard parts, I admit.

Handicap took a beating this year but I attribute that to getting used to the greens at a new place. Sitting at a 13.8 index to finish the year.
Wanna play one more end of year tournament with us on Saturday (or anyone here)? 4th dropped out. We could win it all and it's always an absolute blast. tee off 1130, swag bag, snacks, beer and after round BBQ and raffle/winner reception. It's supposed to be a "bad weather /condition tournament", but Saturday is supposed to be 12 degrees!

Haha sorry I did see this and somehow forgot to reply! I’m done for the year, and have little kids so my Saturdays are taken sadly. Have fun!

This is probably the wrong thread, but does anyone have a buddy who gets unreasonably mad when you say no to a golf outing? Sorry man, I don't want to join the boys trip.

No, that's weird.
Your friend needs to find friends who like golf. None of my close friends golf, so I found people who do.
Your friend needs to find people who share his hobbies, not force people to do them.
Making new friends as an adult is tricky, but life is too short to not do the hobbies you want or expect others to fit into your hobbies.

Nope. It's more the other way around. There's always an odd number of guys so someone gets left out of invites and has FOMO.

Nice dry day today, shot 89 (par 71 course); bogie golf.
Last couple rounds were 83, just a bit off today. Couldn't score, but held things together to avoid any blow up holes.
I love Fall ball.

Well, looks like we're playing St Andrews. We ended up getting a lottery spot. We play St Andrews on day one and the Jubilee course on day two.

Got an email from my course in Nanton with our dues for the upcoming season. It's $1,524 for 7 days week unlimited golf. Cart fees are extra.

^ That's a smokin' deal. Basically, play 25 times, and you break even? Do you get some preferred booking privileges with that?

That's a nice deal. $1389 for weekday play for the year - I'd be all over that!

My 2-day member guest cost me that hahaha

Yah it’s a nice deal if you live in nanton or high river I guess?

Yeah, nice deal if that’s your local. Nanton is an OK track, especially if it’s in your backyard.

Play 27 holes and it's paid for. That's based on a $57 green fee. The fact I play a little over 80 rounds, it's paid for 3 times over.

10-day advanced bookings.

As to other posters questions, I live in High River and the dues I pay in Nanton are half of what I would pay if I was a member of the Highwood course in High River.

Anyone in this thread with connections for hiring a 16-year-old in the spring? Son is looking for his first job at a golf course. We live in Midnapore so one of the south courses would be great, but he will have a car so anything from Inglewood south/ River spirit to Okotoks would be great.

If so, please PM me, if there are hiring fares/meeting dates to know of that would be great as well.

Kids can't get hired for work it seems.
