Or maybe just enjoying being with your family on vacation? We travelled with our toddlers plenty. Rented a place on a beach or in the mountains. It was nice for everyone.

Not Vegas though.

I agree Vegas hasn't been a place for kids but I don't see why it can't be. Where else can you go for $550 a person for 5 days flights and hotels included?

I've even seen it for $350 a person for 5 days.

If the plans are walking around, checking out scenery and eating good food then why not?

Why do you want to do this though? Just because it’s not as expensive as something else, doesn’t mean it’s a good deal. I’d just take the money and add it to some vacation piggy bank and do something more enjoyable the next year.

I don’t know about the walking around thing. I can’t imagine filling 5 days with that on the strip. That really only kills a short amount of time before you grow tired of it, unless you’re thinking of also renting a car and going to Death Valley, Hoover Dam, Red Rock Canyon, etc.

There is smoking in the casinos. There are drunks everywhere. You aren't taking them to any of the really cool stuff you've listed above. Even in the casinos you have to stay on the main walkways and not stop if you're under 21.

If you want to go to the pool, you can... but it's $75 to reserve a cabana. It's not like going to the wave pool.

It's sort of like - "Should I take my toddlers on a 10 day backcountry hike?" You could do it... but you probably should wait till they are at least a little older.
Nothing wrong with taking toddlers on backcountry hikes. They do fine. Not really any different than car camping.

Talking about a road trip from Vegas, that's what our trip earlier this month was. Vegas to Zion, Monument Valley, Forrest Gump point, Horseshoe Bend, Antelope Canyon and Grand Canyon. A good amount of driving but some incredible sights.

However if you are renting a car make sure there are not geo restrictions. Every rental option on Expedia when I booked was Nevada only. Travelocity gave me options that allowed for Utah, Arizona as well as California. The geo restrictions talk about $1000 per day penalty. With cars having GPS these day, I'm sure they could track it easily.

Oh, and brand new cars don't have USB-A ports; just USB-C. My first stop was to Target to get a new cable for my phone.

LOL - I actually meant to write "beach chair" (having recently looked it up for MGM Grand), but had cabana visualized.

Anyway - yeah, insanity.

We are taking the kids to Kalispel. We usually went once a year for Target, Krispy Kreme and Applebees but haven't been back for 3 years. It's cheap and the kids love it. lol

course hotels are like $350/night down there so we are just doing a day trip from Fernie.
