As someone who followed this forum as a guest, even I knew about Sure loss and also wondered if he/she was tied into the NHL and/or media or was just really good at following 1,000 twitter accounts and TV channels.

I've never met him, but I'm pretty sure he is media.
He does this as a job and he throws us a bone. Which, hey, for an unofficial message board is pretty good.
