The advantages in bringing Phillips up are:

1. If he is even moderately successful, we will never have to pay him that huge salary, and therefore end up getting more bang for our buck e.g. Byron

2. It gives the fans something to cheer for. when we are a mediocre team (or play like one) e.g Fleury

3. It gives our prospects more hope that they will eventually be given a chance to come up, e.g. Zary, Pelletier, Wolf.

4. It is decent and fair to Phillips, for all the effort he has put in to be successful
