I think the biggest issue is that if games like this succeed, then in a few short years, there will only really be games like this. That's how the gaming industry works. That's why everything was an open world action thing for like... years. And no one wants this to be what game developers are focusing their energies on making.
Incidentally, isn't this game illegal in certain countries due to addictive gambling mechanics? Doesn't seem like something to just shrug one's shoulders about.
