You bought a 7 year old Mercedes SUV? You are a far braver man than I.
Second, and I don’t mean to sound like an #######, but did you expect the dealership to provide some sort of implied warranty on a 7 year old vehicle? Assuming they didn’t otherwise knowingly hide the issue, how could they be held responsible?

Particularly if you are getting a vehicle like this, it is so important to get an independent inspection first. But even then, things happen. Especially with 7 year old German automobiles.
