The Risebrough GM thing is funny ... I don't blame him for the Gilmour trade as much as shredding Nieuwendyk in an arbitration hearing. So many side stories to that one including adjoining rooms and Joe hearing Gilmour trash him while laughing.
But the trade was fishy ... pushed by McNamara and then months later McNamara quits and surfaces in Toronto.
Lesson was never deal with your former boss that soon ... he knows your roster too well.

Throughout his career, Risebrough was an agitator, often assigned to pester the opponents' top players. In one famous chapter of the Battle of Alberta, Risebrough, while playing with the Flames fought with Marty McSorley. Risebrough lost the fight, but ended up with McSorley's jersey, which he shredded with his skates.
