Ryan Lambert from Yahoo has the best idea IMO. The feel is that Hall wont resign early with any team that trades for him and will go to UFA regardless. So he proposes that a team should offer a huge package, with the biggest pieces being conditional on him resigning, and then make no effort at all to re-sign him and let him walk. Use him to try and win a cup, but then avoid the 7 year overpayment he'll be getting as a UFA.
