I'd double check the owners manual to see if it actually needs premium. I checked a cadillac forum and it looks like 87 (regular) is actually the recommended octane for that car. As for feeling sluggish, it's an old and slow car. 0-60 is like nine seconds so relative to almost any modern car it will feel very slow.
