I built this coat rack using a salvaged cedar fence post from southern Alberta. I rescued it from a refuse pile on the side of a highway during a realignment about 15 years ago.
I polished the copper using my drill press and sandpaper and viola! A coat rack for my kids.

Now if you could just build something to get the kids to actually put the coats on the rack. Perhaps a wooden paddle?
