Having won a Stanley Cup (or not having won one) should not be a criterion in deciding eligibility for the HHOF. As a positive attribute it reflects contributing to a great team, but it just as easily reflects having the good fortune of being a spare part on a great team. That’s how a Kevin Lowe gets in, or maybe secures a future HHOF spot for Patrick Maroon. Taken to an extreme, that means a Chris Dingman gets in over a Jarome Iginla.
