Were they being sarcastic? The average selling price of a house or apartment in Calgary is well over $100,000 (it’s like $509,xxx as of April 2021). How in the world would Brooklyn’s average be only $100,000? I was looking at homes in White Plains and Tarrytown a few years ago and a crappy bungalow from the early 1970s with no updates was like $500k USD.
