Yeah, Box Office totals didnt really mean anything before and they mean even less now.
I've never relied on 'Earnings' to determine whether a movie is good or not, now its a complete shell-game.
Studios are going to start claiming apocalyptic losses and nobody is going to be able to tell if its because a movie flopped or if its a grift.
They were pretty shady with their budgetary proclamations before, never factoring in promotion and advertising, etc. Now they can just say whatever they want. How do they know that people bought HBO for Wonder Woman 1984 and not for Chernobyl?
