Riddell joined the Flames ownership group in 2003. A longtime energy sector executive and a geologist by trade, he was a giant in Calgary’s oil industry – he’s arguably best known as the founder, president and CEO of Paramount Resources – and involved in a number of charitable endeavours. He was made an Officer of the Order of Canada in recognition of his volunteer and philanthropic work.
