Celebratory gifs are fun and silly and full of nonsense and I think there's nothing wrong with that and I think the community as a whole needs to chill. But that's just one man's opinion. I'm here for the hockey talk, and if all gifs were banned, I'd still participate in the discussions. But I think it's wrong to ban them or to censor them above and beyond the already established guidelines.

Again though we aren't banning or censoring the content. ALL we are asking people to do is to use a piece of forum functionality that exists - by placing that type of stuff behind a NSFW tag.
Let's not exaggerate or over-state what is being asked - which is a pretty reasonable request.
